ABOUT THE COMMITTEEThe Wake Forest Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration Committee was birthed out of the Wake Forest Human Relations Council in 1991. Our original motto was DREAM WAKE FOREST.
The Committee’s goal is “to increase in the Wake Forest Community, awareness and understanding of Martin Luther King’s life and commitment to equality, freedom, justice and non-violent social change. |
OUR PURPOSEThe purpose of the MLK Committee is to bring the Community together through events and activities, involving our educational, religious and political arenas, exemplifying the ideas of Dr. King.
Events and activities include the annual MLK Celebration Program; sponsored contests and workshops for students affiliated with the Wake Forest and Rolesville schools & Wake Forest religious organizations, and other events as organized. |
